The Business Challenge is back, with new prizes and new workplaces taking part to compete against.
This will take place from 1st to the 31st of August and is an initiative inviting businesses and individuals across Peterborough to compete to see who can travel most sustainably during August.
It is a web-based competition which gives points and prizes to employees, teams and workplaces just for travelling sustainably. So within your workplace you can engage in a bit of healthy competition in teams, to see who can log the most sustainable journeys.
Anyone can take part and all your journeys count towards your total score: giving a lift to a colleague to work, walking to the shops or bike rides with the kids.
To sign-up go to http://www.travelchoice.org.uk/challenge and enter your details.
How it works
The idea is simple – leave your car behind and walk, cycle, take public transport or car share for as many journeys as possible this August, log your trips on the website and earn points for every sustainable trip made.
Each mode earns a different number of points: e.g. one car share journey– 5 points
As you build up your points, earn medals:—
- bronze = 100- 200 points
- silver = 201- 250 points
- gold = 250- 300 points
And the ultimate goal –
- platinum = 300+ points.
Find out more about the points system on the Challenge website here.
There will also be randomly selected spot prizes so everybody will be in with a chance to win!
The challenge is part of the city-wide Travelchoice workplace initiative to encourage people to walk, cycle, car share and use public transport.

We look forward to seeing who the prize winners will be this year.
