Where can I purchase or renew my Railcard/Railcard voucher?
You can purchase or renew your Railcard/Railcard voucher at the Peterborough Railway Station. The Railcards below (16 – 25 and Disabled Persons) are still available from the Travechoice Centre.
The discounted 16-25 Railcard is available to everyone aged 16-25 or full time student. The cost of this Railcard is £26.00 as opposed to £28.00 if purchased directly from the railway station and it entitles the cardholder to a 1/3 off many rail tickets. An applicant must provide proof of age (valid passport or UK driving license) and the 16-25 Railcard is valid for 1 year.
The discounted Disabled Persons Railcard is available to everyone who is eligible on disability grounds and costs £18.00 as opposed to £20.00 if purchased directly from ATOC (Association of Train Operating Companies) and it entitles the cardholder to 1/3 off many rail tickets. If another adult is travelling with you, they can also travel at the same discounted fare.
Peterborough City Council will issue you with a Disabled Persons Railcard voucher which you will need to post to ATOC, along with your proof of disability, and they will post your Railcard to you. We recommend that you post your voucher recorded-delivery to the following address: Rail Travel Made Easy, PO Box 11631, Laurencekirk, AB30 9AA
There are other cards available which can be purchased in the train station including the family & friends railcard for those who are travelling with a child and the Network Railcard. If you want more information, please visit the Railcard page of the National Rail.
There are several discounts which are dependant on different train companies. For example there is the GroupSave discounted ticket where three or four adults or children can travel together for the price of two adults on various off-peak ticket types. Other discounts include children aged up to 15 and registered charities. To find out more about these type of discounts, please go to the national rail website.
